Cairo – Mubasher: Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals (Sidpec) on Tuesday said that it has finalised its planned maintenance work, as well as eliminated the effect of the limited fire incident in the ethylene’s cooling unit 501.
The company started operation and output in the ethylene and the polyethylene production units, according to a filing to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX).
Last July, the chairman of Sidpec Osama El-Mahdy said that the limited fire, which broke out in the ethylene production unit 501 during the execution of the annual maintenance of the company, had been controlled.
El-Mahdy noted that the degree of readiness of the firm, as well as the readiness of the surrounding petroleum companies, had been raised after being obliged to follow the industrial safety procedures.
The chairman stressed that this accident will not affect the company’s output, as production will resume according to the planned programme after the completion of the annual maintenance.
